ARE WALK-INS WELCOME?

Short answer is No.

While we would love to help everyone who comes through our doors,  we have limited capacity in our clinic.  Our Acupuncturist takes time to understand his patients clinical patterns, and performing orthopedic tests, after reading your intake form and any other medical notes you provide.  Much like a surgeon will do, before any treatment begins, preparations must be made to ensure a good outcome.   So unfortunately, walk-ins are not accommodated.

WHAT AGE GROUPS DO YOU ACCEPT?

All ages.  Dr. Dean has seen patients as young as three (3) and as mature as one hundred two (102).   While we will say that Acupuncture is not for everyone, age simply has nothing to do with it.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE TYPICALLY NEEDED?

Great question, not an easy answer.   The texts teach us that for every month of pain, or disease there is one solid week of treatment.  In the texts, one week of treatment was truly 7 days.  Back then you paid your Acupuncturist to stay well.  When you fell ill, you stopped paying until you became well again.  So the Acupuncturist worked hard every day to treat you to make you well again.  In modern days, we all know its impossible to do this.  (although, being paid to keep you well sounds pretty good. . .more on this later).  There are a lot of factors involved in restoring your health.  Age, overall health, stress, the extent of your injury or illness, and environmental factors.  Many people come for treatment with complex health concerns and somehow have instant relief.  Within a week of treatment they are functioning again.  Others may not be as lucky.  Most patients with acute, recent injury or illness will be asked to come for treatment multiple times per week until the health concern is corrected, and then once a week or twice a month for a while to maintain that effect.   Chronic patients may also be asked to seek treatment once or twice a month for a few months until their health concern is corrected, and also asked to stay on care for months or even longer to maintain balance long term.
