About Dr. Dean Monitto, L.Ac., DACM. . .

Dr. Dean Monitto, L.Ac., DACM has been practicing Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for over two decades in both Florida and New York.  He earned his Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Health and Science, San Diego, Ca. (formally PCOM).  He has been a Professor and Clinic Director of Florida College of Integrative Medicine and New York College of Health Professions.  Dean has advanced training in Functional Integrated Acupuncture.  He is a Certified Life-Coach, Certified Breathwork Coach, and Certified Kinesiology Taping Practitioner. Dr. Dean began his healthcare career as a Nassau County Lifeguard and Certified Personal Trainer.  He has been a volunteer EMT for CVAC for ten years. Throughout his career he has been the Acupuncturist for multiple athletes of the USA Track and Field team, UCF Football team and women’s Volleyball team, University of Florida women’s Volleyball team, and many local high school and collegiate athletes. He was the first preferred alternative healthcare provider for Walt Disney World cast members and Universal Studios stunt workers (Yes, he helped “Spiderman” and “Indiana Jones” …among many other stunt workers and cast members).   Dr. Monitto takes a unique approach to sports-related injuries that help injured athletes get back in the game both physically and mentally using research-based techniques that are rooted in traditional eastern medicine.  He understands his athletes because he is one.  Dr. Dean has been a competitive athlete his entire life.  He has competed in fourteen triathlons and is a proud two-year athlete and fundraiser for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team-in-Training Triathlon team who competed in Orlando and Washington D.C., was a defenseman for seven years in a men’s D1 soccer league in Orlando, Florida.  Dr. Dean recently earned his second-degree black belt in Krav Maga where he has trained for a decade.
